Deep Pelagic Adaptation Systems

The mesopelagic and bathypelagic zones make up the largest inhabited volume of the biosphere and remain among the least adequately described environments on Earth. The central question is not only how organisms survive at depth — but whether the deep pelagic repeatedly forces evolution toward a narrow set of workable solutions so consistently that those solutions begin to resemble a required architecture of life.
